Though I am a native born American, I spent my childhood and teenage years in Africa where I developed a passion for handcrafted items as well as an ever-present sense that I need to make a positive impact on the continent.
Cape Weaver is my way of making a difference. Having lived in Africa and from recent visits, I have seen highly talented artisans struggling to make ends meet. By bringing their goods to market, customers get gorgeous handcrafted pieces and artisans will be able to put food on the table, pay for their kids’ education, and raise their standard of living.
In addition, 20% of the company’s annual earnings is committed to initiatives and organizations that work to improve living conditions in Africa.
