Cape Weaver is committed to making a positive impact in Africa by helping artisans earn a steady source of income. We abide by fair trade principles and require our partners to abide by those principles as well.
In addition, Cape Weaver has committed 20% of its annual earnings to the Sekinat & Margaret Foundation (SMF), a registered non profit organization dedicated to improving living conditions in Africa e.g. for the Almajari
In 2010, Cape Weaver donated funds directly to:
- Darfur Peace and Development Organization: U.S. based non profit, non sectarian organization committed to improving lives in Darfur, Sudan
- Onitsha South Local Government Motherless Babies Home
- Wola Nani: South African based NGO which helps people living with HIV and AIDS make a living
About SMF
SMF was established by Cape Weaver founder Lara Junaid. Its sole mission is to improve living conditions in Africa by providing financial support to initiatives and organizations that make an impact.
