Our artisans and partners come from different parts of Africa. Profiled below are a few of our artisans/partners.
 
 
WOLA NANI
 
Wola Nani is an NGO that was started in 1994 to help people from very poor communities within the Western Cape living with HIV and AIDS.
 
The NGO provides counselling, home care, income generation opportunities, support groups and HIV/AIDS awarenesss and education.
 
All our paper mache bowls are made by women within the income generation unit of Wola Nani. Each bowl takes about 4 hours to craft and reflects the excellent craftsmanship of the artisans. Income, derived solely, from crafting these bowls enables the women provide shelter and education for their children.
 
ANNET NAMATA
 
Annet is a 42 year old expert basket weaver from Uganda.
 
Like most Cape Weaver artisans, Annet has been practising her craft for decades. She was taught basketry by her mother and has been weaving since childhood.
 
Annet is disabled and basket weaving is her only source of income.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
SULE SABO
 
Mr Sabo is a master leather craftsman from Kano City, West Africa.
 
He has over ten of experience working with leather and was taught by his father, an expert craftsman with over three decades of experience.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
KAZEEM SHOGBAMU
 
Kazeem Shogamu, 34, is an exceptional talented artist from West Africa. He has been painting since childhood. As a teenager, he entered into several exhibitions and contests where he was lauded for his unique, visually stimulating, highly detailed art paintings.
 
Despite the unique challenges faced by African artists, Kazeem has stayed true to his passion. He continues to participate in group and solo exhibitions where his impressive paintings draw critical acclaim.
 
His pieces are inspired by the diversity of the African experience including its people, culture, rural life and nature.
 
Kazeem works from his Lagos/West Africa based studio "Shoqaz" and many of his pieces are on display at several local galleries.
 
His paintings are increasingly being collected in Europe and the United States.
 
 
FAUSTA NAMUGENYI
 
Fausta Namugenyi is a 44 year old widow from Uganda. She's an exceptional basket weaver.
 
Fausta is HIV positive and basket weaving is her sole source of income
